Junior Stylist / Grooming Assistant

Job Description

Implement and maintain customer’s registration and on-line payment processes

  • Assist Professional Pet Stylists to groom pets
  • Perform basic grooming services includes brushing/de-matting, shampoo/conditioning and blow drying of animals
  • Perform full grooming service to all natural dogs including shedless treatment and scissoring work based on breed standards
  • Perform full grooming service to selected dogs that require standard puppy trims – inclusive of clipping and scissoring work based on breed standards (if applying for Stylist position only)
  • Complete and file grooming log records for each pet groomed
  • Ensure Grooming Salon cleanliness and safety to our standards
  • Assist in booking and re-confirming grooming appointments
  • Interact with customers to ensure our salon exceeds their expectations
  • Explain our grooming services, standard procedures and pet trim styles to our clients
  • Support staff in trade shows and other marketing efforts
  • Special projects as assigned

    Education

    • A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred

    Requirements

    • Must have animal work experience
    • Grooming experience would be an asset; will provide training
    • Respect and appreciation for pets and their owners
    • Have good verbal and written communication skills
    • Have good public and personal relations skills
    • Have good organizational skills and attention to details
    • Socially oriented and enjoy working with people, along with a compassion to animals
    • Able to do multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously
    • Pleasant personality capable of working in a team oriented environment
    • Have good hygiene and appropriate dress
    • Have no medical or physical conditions that would prevent the successful completion of
      position duties
